Sustainable Weight Loss
Achieving the weight you need and want for good
Changing your body composition and then maintaining it has never been easy. For some people, weight loss meds can give the kick start needed but it is important to combine them with good nutrition (and resistance workouts) to avoid losing muscle mass or feeling constantly tired.
6-week workshop to nail your nutrition
When your doctor prescribes weight loss meds, these can be a powerful way of achieving weight loss but you need to ensure you are eating the right foods to maintain good energy levels and avoid muscle loss. Our nutritionist, Megan Lewis Healy, is running a 6-week course at Karori Community Centre which will help you to make the changes you need to build easy and enjoyable habits around kai.
Every person and each body type has differences in their nutritional needs, so Megan adapts this course to the individuals who take part. It is suitable for adults and young people who are prescribed wegovy or mounjaro, including those with obesity, pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Megan provides tailored nutritional advice for all, including Māori, Pākehā, Pasifika, Chinese, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans.
The workshop runs on Saturdays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, starting on 9th May through to 20th June (no session on 30th May). To get the benefit of the course you’ll need to be there for every session (or at least most of them) but if you have to miss one or two then we’ll help you catch up.
The workshops will take place at Karori Community Centre, 7 Beauchamp St, Karori, Wellington.
There is a one-off payment of $365 (plus koha) for the entire course, with no extras nor hidden costs. For less than the cost of a month’s weight loss meds, these workshops will help you gain nutrition skills and build lasting habits so you feel healthier and keep the weight off for good. At the first session, if you decide that it’s not for you, will be reimbursed in full.
If you’re thinking you may like to join in but the current economic climate is a struggle for you, sing out to nutmeg.
Megan is a Registered Nutritionist (NZ) and has qualifications including a PGDip in Human Nutrition from Massey University and a PGCE (teaching qualification) from Oxford University, UK.
If you’d like to travel lighter, catch you at the first workshop.
